Guardianship

A guardianship is created for any person who does not have capacity to make decisions.  The person may be a child or an adult:  anyone who cannot take care of himself or herself.  The guardian is the person who is appointed by the court to take care of the incapacitated person or minor child.  A conservator is similarly appointed by the court to take care of the finances of the incapacitated person or minor child.

At the Winchester law firm of Harriet Schechter, Attorney At Law, you will receive forceful yet compassionate representation in all areas of guardianship law.  There are several forms of guardianships:

  • Guardianship of a minor
  • Guardianship of an adult child
  • Guardianship of an elderly person with a disabling disease
  • Guardianship of a mentally ill person.

I also represent clients in Rogers cases where the guardian asks the court for special authority to make extraordinary decisions such as administration of anti-psychotic medications, admission to a nursing home, authority to consent to invasive medical procedures or withholding of care.

At the office of Harriet Schechter, Attorney At Law, I will provide compassionate, respectful and aggressive representation to meet your needs in all guardianship and conservatorship matters.    I offer affordable rates and limited assistance representation.
